Enabling security on email
Question asked by Carl Johansen - April 12, 2017 at 10:17 PM
I can't seem to find any security options for (1) POP3 and (2) Web mail.  It seems like everything is unencrypted.  Web mail uses http (not https) and the incoming mail server doesn't support SSL.  Does this mean that my password is sent in the clear every time I log on to web mail or retrieve my email over POP3?  And does this mean that all my mail is sent in the clear when I read it in web mail or retrieve it over POP3?
The only KB article I can find on email setup dates back to 2009.  This is 2017.  Surely I'm missing something?  If I use unencrypted connections over public WiFi, I might as well be standing up and shouting out my password.

Our shared hosting accounts have been discontinued years ago. We are currently not providing any sort of enhancements beyond what was originally supported.
Thank you.
