At approximately 9:45AM EST on December 13, 2009, we received alerts regarding the device RSNET19 at our LGA1, 325 Hudson St, NYC, facility. This server was under heavy load due to a mass mail attempt internally. At 2:00AM EST on December 14, 2009 webmail, POP, IMAP, and SMTP access was temporarily disabled to allow server techs to locate the origin and block the abuse as well as preventing all queued e-mails from this user from being sent.
At this time, the mail service is functioning once again. We are currently working with our vendor, SmarterMail, to gather further details and to seek a solution to remedy this problem indefinitely.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
