Changing Account Policies

Account Policies are account-level settings. Account policies specify such settings as web site default folders and settings, web, FTP, mail account allowed symbols and passwords complexity.

Account policies can be overriden on nested reseller levels. If they are not overriden host account policies will be used in this case.

To edit account policies login under reseller account ("serveradmin" can act as reseller too):

Click "Policies" on the right-side "Settings" toolbox:

Host or Overriden Settings

There is a selector at the top of all settings forms. If "Use Host Settings" is selected then all form elements are disabled and your account will be use the settings/policies defined on the upper host level. If you want to override host settings/policies you should select "Override Host Settings" option.

Common Policy Elements

Below are described common elements that occur on many policies.

Username Policy

Allows to specify the set of allowed symbols that can be used by customer in identifier (username, database name, etc.) as well as its minimum and maximum lengths, prefixes and suffixes.

• Enabled Policy - if the checkbox is set policy is enforced for the identifier; otherwise policy is not applied.
• Allowed Symbols - the set of allowed symbols can be defined in this field. *, a-z, A-Z, 0-9, ., _ symbols are already allowed. Symbols in this field should be specified without spaces or other separators.
• Minimum length - the minimum required length of the identifier.
• Maximum length - the maximum required length of the identifier including prefix and suffix.
• Prefix - the value that will be placed before identifier. It can be just a constant string such as "ftp_" or "reseller1_" or substitution variable such as [USER_NAME] or [USER_ID].
• Suffix - the value that will be placed after identifier. It can be just a constant string such as "_web" or substitution variable such as [USER_NAME] or [USER_ID].

Password Policy

Allows to enforce password complexity requirements.

• Enabled Policy - if the checkbox is set policy is enforced for the password; otherwise policy is not applied.
• Minimum length - the minimum required password length.
• Maximum length - the maximum password length.
• Uppercase letters - the minimum number of uppercase letters in the password.
• Numbers - the minimum number of numbers (0-9) in the password.
• Non-alphanumeric symbols - the minimum number of symbols (e.g. $, #, &, etc.) in the password.
